From Wednesday, May 27 to Sunday, May 31, the 19th edition of the Citadelic Festival once again brings adventurous music to life in the unique world of improvisation and jazz. As always, the magnificent Citadel Park in Ghent will serve as the vibrant heart of the festival, hosting an eclectic series of concerts in a warm and convivial atmosphere. From classical and avant-garde to indie, contemporary, and experimental sounds, the programme is so diverse that everyone is bound to discover something that resonates with them.
Originality, the exploration of society’s undercurrents, the search for a personal voice, and an unrelenting musical curiosity are what have made jazz a truly global art form.
Prepare for five days on a musical rollercoaster, featuring nearly 30 performances by both emerging and established artists. Alongside a wealth of local talent, young and seasoned alike, the festival also welcomes an impressive lineup of international musicians.
Beyond the music, festivalgoers can enjoy summery snacks and refreshing drinks provided by El Negocito, adding to the relaxed and festive atmosphere.
We are also especially excited to welcome Ghent favourite Pieter-Jan Desmet — musician, actor, and artistic chameleon — who will captivate audiences each day with a unique musical escapade full of beauty, surprise, and imagination.
